Steve Jobs is someone who successfully followed their path and purpose to leave a legacy behind. For the few that may be unsure of who he is, he’s pretty much the guy who co-founded Apple Inc and Pixar Animation Studios. Both companies have revolutionised technology and how it is used. These iPods, iPhones, iPads and so on, would not have been invented, or be as extraordinary as they are, if it wasn’t for Steve Jobs’ vision. Remember Toy Story – the first feature-length computer-animated movie ever? Well that was all down to Pixar! Steve Jobs is truly iconic. He overcame a number of setbacks to create a life that he loved. He is one of the most influential individuals of our time, and the video above is probably Steve Jobs’ most inspiring speech we’ve heard! The video is from his 2005 commencement address at Stanford University.
Here are 3 quotes from the video that really stood out to us. The first is about trusting that the dots in your life will eventually connect. This is also faith:
“Again, you can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking back. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. Because believing that the dots will connect down the road, will give you the confidence to follow your heart, even when it leads you off the well-worn path. And that will make all the difference.” – Steve Jobs
This is absolutely vital. Find and do what you love, don’t settle for less. This will be your purpose:

Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied, is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking and don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.” – Steve Jobs
Tomorrow is never promised. Don’t waste it living a life based on the opinions of others. Time is valuable, spend it living your dreams:
