I’m sure a lot of you have seen these words flying about: “Snapbacks and tattoos? No honey. Good job and nice suits.” It’s usually said from a female perspective about men. If it was the other way round, it would probably indicate that women should wear dresses and have good cooking skills instead of wearing leggings or something!
In a society that pleads not to be judged, the choice of words above probably make this one of the most judgemental and ignorant phrases going. It assumes that good jobs and nice suits are always associated – try telling that to a Google employee. Also what’s a nice suit? We’re sure that there isn’t a distinctive way to label any material possession as nice, because it requires individual judgement. In the same way, the phrase assumes that we all perceive the same jobs as good. So what is a good job? We’re sure that if we asked 50 random people what a good job is, they will give you a variety of answers.
A top athlete may earn millions, love what he does (his job), have tattoos, wear suits when he attends formal events, and yet wear shorts and a jersey in his job role. Should he be overlooked according to the topic of discussion?

You could be someone who’s Vice President of a big firm. Your job could offer you a very generous pay package but also very lengthy hours in return, that leave you with no social life, and often feeling sad or stressed. Do you think this is a good job? For those that have answered yes, you must realise that you spend most your time working, if not sleeping. If you’re not happy with your job, you’re spending most your time unhappy. That’s why we always encourage our readers to go after their dream job; a job that entails what you’re good at, what you love and provides enough to let you live the lifestyle you desire. It will be a job that fits your purpose in life.
The reason why some people find it so difficult to find true love is due to these prejudging thoughts and restrictions on their perfect match, before they even have the chance to get to know someone. If you live your life with these restricted views, expect to have restricted results.
