Emirates Palace is in the heart of Abu Dhabi and is one of only two seven star hotels in the world, along with Dubai’s Burj Al Arab. The dream palace is located along a private beach and cost a staggering $3.5 billion to build… That’s right, we said billion! This identifies it as one of the most expensive hotels ever built in the world! It occupies a surface area of 850,000 square metres, with the entire hotel being paved in marble and covered with gold. There is no doubt that this is one of the most luxurious stays you’ll ever experience.
The hotel possesses a total of 302 rooms and 92 suites. Some of the suites are reserved for members of the royal family and other significant figures. The reception area has one of the tallest domes in the world; bigger than the dome of St. Peter’s cathedral in the Vatican. Impressive! The door handles inside the hotel are decorated with Swarovski crystals. There are also 102 Swarovski crystal chandeliers which are cleaned by 10 employees every day; this is their entire purpose. The hotel employs a total of 2,600 staff of 50 different nationalities to ensure that they can cater to the needs of their guests from all around the world.
Once you stay at this hotel, you may find it difficult to actually leave it. It has its own 1.5 km private beach, if you wish to indulge in a sand and sea experience. You’ll find it hard to go hungry in the palace, with 20 restaurants offering world-cuisine. The hotel also has a range of swimming pools, gym facilities, activities to partake in, shops, bars, a superb spa, tennis courts and even two heliports. Also, if you get a sudden urge to buy some gold, you can buy it from a vending machine that they have located inside! Forget buying a packet of crisps, buy some gold instead!
